Edgewater Renovation

By ahfloori88029674, Jan 26 2017 08:56PM

When we started on this renovation it was just an ordinary home that was outdated. But now it is completely updated and GORGEOUS!!!

The homeowner has been a longtime friend and was such a joy to work with.

Through the renovation the home was vacant, so the homeowner didn't have to live through the dust, mess, and noise that come with every remodel.

In the existing kitchen, we had stained oak cabinets, with dated appliances, vinyl flooring, laminate countertops, and a peninsula with spindles. The kitchen wasn't terrible, but it wasn't the homeowners style and it was outdated. With the kitchen being one of the main focal areas of the home, we definitely wanted to make it beautiful and a space for the homeowner to enjoy while she entertained and enjoyed time with her family.

Throughout the rest of the home, there are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There was a lot of carpet, wallpaper, and popcorn ceilings

The master bathroom had an extra helping of wallpaper and needed some love.

For the bathroom and the kitchen we really wanted to add some elegance and brightness!

The kitchen got Colonial White granite countertops, with Sherwin Williams Poised Taupe painted cabinets, and taupe 4x16 ceramic tile backsplash with a linear cream glass and stone mosaic. We also layed a gray washed LVP throughout the entire home, everywhere except the master bathroom and sunroom. We even layed the LVP in the guest bathroom, since LVP is waterproof!

Then for the master bathroom we chose a Shaw white/ gray 4x8 porcelain brick tile, navy blue vanity, with a LG Cirrus marble look countertop, gray 12x24 shower wall tiles, and blue mercury glass mosaic tile.

This home has made a complete turn around! It looks completely different and is now fresh and new! We are so excited for the homeowner to have her new home and to get to share it with her friends and family. She even has a room set up for her granchildren to stay the night and they have already started to make friends in the neighborhood. We love when our clients are happy with their projects!

We painted the outside of this home a nice, cool gray, with fresh white trim, and we pulled the blue for the new front door from an awning that overlooks the pool. There is also a lake across the street from this home, so the cool gray and blue vibes help with the lake feel.

This swing is going to be a great spot to enjoy the evening sunsets.

Once inside we walk into a fresh new living room. All the carpet is gone and we have this gorgeous LVP throughout. We added a new ceiling fan in the living room as well as crownmolding. The white trim against the gray walls really gives a clean, fresh look and just pops! The LVP flooring thoughout the home is gorgeous. It is waterproof and scratch resistant, but the best thing is that it doesn't look like it's a vinyl. It is laid in planks and even has a handscraped texture to it.

From the living room we move into the dining area and kitchen, and what a transformation!! The dining area and kitchen received a different paint color from the living room, but the LVP flooring still continues through. There is a GORGEOUS new light fixture hung in the dining area to anchor the homeowners dining table.

Then in the kitchen everything has changed! But one of my favorite features is the custom double sided bookcase that we built for the peninsula to replace the previous spindles. The homeowner loves this feature because she is able to display her cookbooks and other kitchen accessories that she originally didn't know what to do with. And there are some beautiful sparkling pendants that hang over this area. We removed several ceiling mount fixtures in the kitchen and replaced with recessed LED can lights. While also adding LED undercabinet strip lighting. There is now a multitude of lighting for the homeowner to utilize, because lighting in the kitchen is very important! To the cabinets we removed the latice trim that ran around the top and a cabinet valence above the sink, this really helped to make the kitchen feel larger. We also replaced all of the hardware on the cabinets with brushed nickel hinges, knobs, and handles.

The kitchen faucet was replaced with a Delta Leland pull down brushed nickel.faucet, and all of the lighting fixtures are brushed nickel finish so that everything was cohesive.

This kitchen is now somewhere that our client can bake, cook, and entertain easily!

Right off of the kitchen there is a sunroom, and this is probably one of my favorite rooms in the home. We tiled this floor with a Shaw 4x8 porcelain white/ gray brick tile in a heringbone pattern and it turned out absolutely stunning. But once the draperies were added to this room it felt so peaceful and very elegant. Morning coffee in this room would be calming and comforting.

Next we will head to the guest bedroom and bath. This area is set up for the homeowners grandchildren. We painted the bedroom a fun turquoise, while the bathroom stayed with the color scheme of the kitchen for the walls, vanity, and countertops.

Both areas got new light fixtures, with the bedroom receiving a ceiling fan and the bathroom a Edison bulb 2 light wall mount fixture.

The master bedroom is next, and it is a very elegant master bedroom. It has a beautiful tray ceiling, with freshly painted gray walls, and the homeowner purchased a gorgeous new bed and rug that accent the space perfectly!! And the icing on the cake is getting to wake up every morning with the exquisite view of the lake just out the window!

On to the master bathroom....

This area had one of the most stunning makeovers in the home. Once we removed all the wallpaper we were able to see what we had to work with. We removed a fiberglass tub/shower, the oak vanity cabinets, a linoleum floor, popcorn ceiling, outdated light fixtures, and the existing plumbing fixtures.

We added a brand new tile shower with a stunning waterfall mosaic. The shower walls have 12x24 gray tiles laid in a horizontal straight lay pattern, with a 30" x 12" recessed niche and a full framed bench. The bathroom floor is a brick tile in a heringbone pattern and this was carried into the shower floor. For the shower plumbing fixtures we chose to implement a handheld showerhead as well as a fixed showerhead. From the shower next there is a gorgeous navy blue vanity topped with a marble look quartz countertop. All of the plumbing fixtures and cabinet hardware are chrome and accent the bathroom perfectly. We chose a single hole Delta faucet and a frameless beveled mirror. The mirror is flanked on each side by single Edison bulb sconces.

We along with the homeowner are absolutely in love with how this master bathroom turned out!
